Legal grounds
We process your personal data based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a), b), c) and f) of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). That is, by expressly giving us your consent, or your information is necessary to fulfill our contractual or legal obligations, or necessary to establish a business relationship with you.
1. Personal data
We collect and process certain information about you, including information you enter yourself and information about your participation in our courses. Some data is automatically collected, including information about your device and about the services that you interact with or use when you visit our website.
1.1 Data you provide to us
What data we collect from you or about you depends on the way you use our services. Below are some examples:
Account information
When enrolling for a course, you must create a user account. When you create or update your account, we collect and store the information you provide, such as your email address, password, gender and date of birth.
Profile data
You may also wish to indicate in your account other details about you, such as: your academic degree, a picture, a website link, profiles of social media, etc. Your profile data will be accessible to other students.
Shared content
Parts of the services allow you to communicate with other users or publicly share content, such as posting reviews, posting or answering questions, sending messages to attendees or lecturers, or posting photos or other contributions. Shared content of this nature may be publicly available to others depending on where it has been posted.
Course data
When you enroll and participate in courses, we collect certain data, such as which courses or assignments you have started and completed, your communication with lecturers and other participants, as well as answers to questions and other contributions you submit to meet the course requirements.
Payment details of participants
When you book a paid course, we collect the necessary information about your purchase (for example, your name and postal code). Certain payment and billing information must be provided directly to our partners for payment processing, including name, credit card details, billing address and postal code. For security reasons, Easy Dent does not collect or store sensitive cardholder data.
Communication and support
When you contact us, we will collect and store your contact information, messages, and other information about you, such as your name, email address, location, operating system, IP address, and other information you provide to us or we automatically collect (as explained below). We use this information to respond to you and to answer your questions or concerns in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1.2 Automatically collected data
When you access the services (including the training and module browsing), we automatically collect certain information, including:
System data
Specifications about your computer or device, such as IP address, device type, operating system type and version, unique device identifiers, browser, browser language, domain and other system data and platform types.
Usage data
Usage statistics about your interactions with the services, such as the courses you’ve accessed, the time spent on pages or services, pages viewed, features used, your searches, clicks, date and time, and other information about your use of the services.
Approximate geographic data
Your IP address will be used to calculate the approximate geographic location. This includes, among other things, the country, the location and the geographical coordinates.

Dental-Campus uses the following types of cookies:

We disclose certain information about you to lecturers, other participants, companies that provide services to us, our business partners, analytics and data enrichment providers, social media providers, businesses that help us with promotions and surveys, and advertising companies which we entrust with the application of our services. We may also share your information, when necessary, for security, regulatory, or corporate reorganization purposes. Finally, we may also share information in other ways, provided that they are aggregated or anonymized or we have obtained your explicit consent.
We may share your information with third parties under the following circumstances or as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy:
- To your lecturers: We pass on data that we have from you to the instructors of the courses you enroll in or request information from, in order to improve their courses for you and other participants. This data may include information such as your name, academic title, location, country, browser language, operating system, device settings, the website that you used to access Easy Dent, and your activities on Easy Dent. If we collect additional information about you (such as age or gender), we may also pass it on. We also enable our lecturers to integrate Google Analytics on their course pages to track the sources of traffic at their courses and to optimize their course pages..
- To other participants and lecturers: Depending on your settings, your shared content and other profile information will be publicly visible, including to other participants and lecturers. If you ask a lecturer or teaching assistant a question, your information (including your name) will also be publicly visible to other users, depending on your preferences. .
- To service providers, contractors and authorized representatives: We share your information with third parties who provide services on our behalf, such as payment processing, data analysis, marketing and advertising services (including retargeting), e-mail and hosting services, and customer service and support. These service providers may access your personal data and are required to use it only to our specifications to provide the service we require..
- To business partners: We have agreements with other websites and platforms for them to distribute our services and to channel traffic to Easy Dent.
- To analysis and data enrichment services: As part of our use of analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, we provide certain contact information, account information, system data, usage data (see Section 1 for details) or anonymized data as needed. Anonymized data is data from which we have removed information such as your name and e-mail address and replaced it with a symbolic ID. This allows these providers to provide analytics services or to compare your data with publicly available database information (including contact and social information from other sources). 5. Security
We take precautions appropriate to the type and sensitivity of data. As with any online system, there is the possibility of unauthorized access. It is therefore important that you protect your password and contact us if you suspect that unauthorized persons have access to your account.
Easy Dent takes reasonable precautions to protect your personal information that we collect and save from unauthorized access, modification, disclosure or destruction. Depending on the type and sensitivity of the data we use different precautions. However, a truly complete protection of a system is unfortunately not possible. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that communication between you and Easy Dent, the services or the information you provide to us in connection with the data collected by us through the services is wholly immune to unauthorized access by third parties. Your password is an important component of our security system and you are responsible for protecting it. You should never share your password with third parties. 6. Your rights
You have certain rights in regards of the use of your data. This includes the ability to reject promotional emails, cookies and the collection of your data by certain analytics providers. You may update or cancel your account for our services at any time, and you may also contact us if you have questions about your rights.
6.1 Your choices regarding the use of your data
You can choose not to provide us with certain data. However, this may mean that you cannot use certain features of the services.
- If you do not want to receive any further advertising from us, you can unsubscribe from it. To do this, you can either use the Opt-out mechanism in the promotional message you received or change the newsletter settings in “my profile” in your Easy Dent account. Please note that regardless of your email preferences, we will continue to provide you with transaction and customer relationship messages about the services, including administrative acknowledgments, order confirmations, important new information about the services, and notifications of our policies.

You may access and update your personal data that Easy Dent collects and maintains, as follows:

- Please note the following: After the cancelation of your account, some or all of your information may still be visible to others, in particular data that has been (a) copied, stored or distributed by other users (including comments during classes), (b) shared or distributed by you or others (including your shared content) or (c) posted on a third-party platform. Even after your account has been terminated, we will retain your information as long as it serves a legitimate purpose (and in accordance with applicable laws), such as: an aid in fulfilling legal obligations, settling disputes and enforcing our agreements. Such information may be retained and disclosed by us following this Privacy Policy after your account has been terminated.

7. Country specific regulations
In principle, all data protection questions are subject to the law of the Swiss headquarters of Digital Dental Life AG. Due to country-specific rules – especially the rules of the GDPR in EU countries – we have aligned our privacy policy with these standards. As far as can be seen, these rules also represent a higher level of protection for users from the USA and other countries.
As far as necessary, we have entered into data processing agreements with our service providers that restrict and regulate the processing of your data by these providers in our name. By submitting your data or using our services, you consent to this transfer, storage and processing by Dental-Campus and its processors.
